Pismo council discussion gets hot - The rest of the story |
A discussion among Pismo Beach City Council members Tuesday
about a teambuilding workshop ended in heated words and left
local residents disgusted.
Outbursts have become more regular during the past few months,
turning meetings into public forums for council members to lob
accusations at each other.
"It was embarrassing," said Tony Spinelli, a local
businessman and regular at council meetings. "I’m
tired of them airing their dirty laundry in public."
Tuesday is perhaps the worst example of what has been happening
lately inside Pismo Beach’s City Hall.
Mayor Mary Ann Reiss had asked City Manager Kevin Rice to research
options for a teambuilding workshop. Rice brought back several
alternatives, ranging in price from $6,800 to $1,500.
The council didn’t get far into their discussion before
Councilman Bill Rabenaldt spoke, stating that he has too many
issues with Reiss to consider a workshop.
